This is a demo of me playing my own arrangement of Handel’s Hornpipe for one of the Water Music Suites.

There are two concert ukulele parts, one tenor, one baritone and one uBass part.

Hopefully it will be part of a CD I’m producing for the NZ Ukulele Squads which I direct.

Most of the tracks are played by the squads, but this one I arranged too late for the group to learn before we recorded - so it’s just me. :-(

Here’s a rough mix of one of the tracks featuring the senior squad - that’s senior as in 14-17 year-olds.

We toured to Hawaii in 2018 and on occasion encountered some surprised reactions when we turned up. I think “senior” made people expect zimmer-frames and false-teeth.

The piece is Till there was you from The Music Man by Meredith Wilson - arranged for ukulele ensemble by me.

The instrumentation is the same as for the Handel. 2 × concert, 1 tenor, 1 baritone, 1 uBass, but there are multiple people on each part (except the bass)
