AFFETTO presents:

Hail bright Cecilia!

St. Cecilia's Day approaches (Nov. 22nd). Since the 17th century, British composers in particular, have been inspired to write music in honour of this woman of courage, and this programme will present such music by composers including Purcell and Handel, as well as inspiring music by Scarlatti, J.S. Bach and Bononcini. St. Cecilia is patron saint of music and blindness, though she was neither blind, nor a musician; however through her visions, (inner sight), she brought music, the language of the angels, to earth, and it has been inspiring and comforting people ever since.

Affetto combine expert musicianship on historical instruments with the rich & virtuosic baritone voice of Will King.

Join them in celebrating the divine power of music & tribute to St Cecilia!
